A web logo is normally understood to be a logo or logo variation designed specifically for use on the WWW. Web logos are created in or exported to one of the web compatible raster formats such as JPG, GIF or PNG.

wordmark

A wordmark is a logo where the name of the company, product or service becomes the logo. No additional graphic elements added. The Microsoft logo is one of the more famous wordmark logos. Wordmarks can range from a very plain text version of the name, presented as a logo image, to a more custom version of the name, such as the Microsoft example.
